Flamboyant Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli showered the ultimate compliment on the Gujarat Titans (GT) opener, Shubman Gill, for his sensational ton against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Gill hammered 101 off mere 58 deliveries, which featured 13 fours and one maximum during the first innings. Besides this, the opener combined to stitch a vital 147-run stand with B Sai Sudharsan for the second wicket.

Highly impressed with his knock against the orange outfit, Kohli took to his social media handle to lavish praise on the opener with a heartwarming caption. Kohli, who has himself etched massive records, subtly named Gill as the successor for the impact the latter has had in recent times.

Notably, with his century, Gill climbed to the second place in the IPL Orange Cap list with 576 runs in 13 outings, at a solid average of 48.00. In addition to this, the batter has been in blazing form as he has got three centuries across the three formats and a double century in the ODIs against New Zealand in 2023.
