No matter what Yash Dayal tried in the final over of the match against Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing IPL 2023, nothing really came off as Rinku Singh smacked five sixes in five deliveries to help KKR win a memorable match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat. Notably, the 25-year-old tried to bowl yorkers initially but unfortunately, it didn’t come off well as Rinku dismissed them all over the park. Following this, the pacer was spotted dejected while cricketers like Irfan Pathan and Rohit Sharma consoled him on Twitter and asked him to learn from this.

Pathan, who represented India in 173 international matches, asked Dayal to stay strong as that is the only way to turn things around. The former cricketer asked him to forget about the match against KKR, just like how one forgets about a good day in order to move to the next one.

“Hey Yash Dayal buddy forget about today’s game like you forget about the Good days on the field to move on to the next one. If you stay strong, you will be able turn things around,” Pathan tweeted.

Meanwhile, batting first, Gujarat Titans posted 204 runs on the board in 20 overs. Replacing Hardik Pandya, Vijay Shankar played blistering innings of 63* runs in 24 deliveries while youngster Sai Sudharsan hit 53 off 38 deliveries. For Kolkata, Narine picked up three wickets with the ball but others looked pale and that is one area the two-time champions need to address immediately.

However, in the second innings, Venkatesh Iyer played some brilliant cricket to bring KKR back to the game. The Indore-born cricketer hit 83 runs off 40 deliveries while Nitish Rana supported him well in the middle with 45 runs off 29 deliveries. However, Rashid Khan later changed the complexion of the game with a brilliant hat-trick and just when everyone thought Gujarat will win the match pretty easily, Rinku Singh dominated with the bat, to help KKR win by three wickets.
