Team India opener Shubman Gill was teased by the fans present in the stadium during a clash against Sri Lanka in the recently concluded series. The Men in Blue clinched the ODI series 3-0 after a resounding win by 317 runs against the Islanders at the Greenfield International Stadium in Kerala.

In one of the matches against the visitors, the spectators began chanting ‘Sara’ when Gill was fielding close to the boundary ropes. The player was seen waving to the fans in response before he shifted his focus back to the game.

Notably, the India cricketer has been linked with Bollywood actor Sara Ali Khan as their dating rumours has headlined on numerous occasions. Adding to this, the speculations of Gill dating cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar's daughter Sara Tendulkar have also been doing rounds since some time now.

Meanwhile, in the third ODI against Sri Lanka, Gill scored a sublime 116 runs, which coupled with Virat Kohli’s unbeaten knock of 166, powered India to a massive total of 390 runs in their 50 overs. Later, the bowlers worked in tandem to crush the Islanders in their run chase as the Lankan Lions were bundled out for mere 73 runs and handed the victory by a large margin of 317 runs.

It is worth mentioning that Gill has been terrific in the 50-over format and scored his second ODI century in the final ODI against the Asia Cup 2022 winners. Many fans were baffled with his inclusion and Ishan Kishan not featuring in the side as the latter scored a record double century (210) in against Bangladesh recently.

'Despite this, the management backed Gill to open the innings alongside Rohit Sharma and the former has instilled faith with his majestic knocks lately. Meanwhile, after the thunderous 3-0 series win against the Lankan Lions, India play New Zealand in a three-match ODI series starting on January 18.
