Mumbai Indians' star batter, Rohit Sharma, has been at the centre of attention throughout the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, amid swirling rumours about his future with the franchise. Speculations gained attraction, particularly after his removal as the team's captain.
Sharma has been the face of the Mumbai Indians franchise for years, leading them to five IPL titles. However, ever since Rohit was replaced as captain by Hardik Pandya, there seems to be talks about his future. This sudden change in leadership has fuelled rumours of Rohit's discontent with the franchise.

In a recent interview, Lucknow Super Giants head coach Justin Langer was asked about one player he would want to have in the team for the IPL 2025 mega auction. The host on the Lucknow Super Giants' show, Shubham Gaur, was interviewing Langer and asked, “Since it's going to be a mega auction, considering everybody is available, one guy you want in the team?”
Replying to that, “One guy I would want, who do you think?” asking the host a reverse question. While he came up with the answer and said, “Most of our bases are covered, if we can get Rohit Sharma.”
After hearing that, Langer was stunned and asked the anchor to do the negotiations and said, “Rohit Sharma, we are going to get him from Mumbai, you better be the negotiator, I can't see that's gonna happen.”

MI beat DC to secure season's first win
Under Pandya's captaincy, MI had a shaky start as they lost their first three games. But after a gap of five days, the five-time champions came back strong as they registered their first win of the IPL 2024 over Delhi Capitals.
The opening batter played a magnificent innings of 49 off just 27 balls to take his team to the big total and eventually win the game by the margin of 29 runs.
Mumbai will play their next match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 11. Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, will face Delhi the following day.
