The Orange Army got off to a blistering start yet again courtesy of the Travis Head-Abhishek Sharma duo. The flamboyant southpaws aggregated 92 runs inside the first seven overs before Sunil Narine got the better of Abhishek.

Heinrich Klaasen was promoted to No. 3 ahead of Ishan Kishan and this move paid rich dividends. Head scored a whirlwind 76 off 40 balls, forging a partnership of 83 runs off 35 deliveries with Klaasen. After the Australian opener was dismissed, once again by Narine, Klaasen took the onus upon himself to get Sunrisers to a staggering total. He slammed the joint third-fastest century in IPL history, getting to the three-figure mark off just 37 balls in the 19th over.

Ishan Kishan (29) and Aniket Verma (12*) made handy contributions, but it was a one-man show from Klaasen that had KKR reeling. In the end, Klaasen finished unbeaten on 105 off 39 balls, smashing seven fours and nine maximums.

"Very pleased, it’s been a long season of disappointment. Luckily, I stuck to my processes and found my form now. The franchise spent a lot of time and money to play this brand of cricket, and it was up to us to step up to the mantle. (On the pitch) I tried to hit every ball for six, there was a spell from Narine where it was quite difficult, but I tried to improvise. The hard lengths are a bit tougher to play.

"(On batting at number 3) I’m a situation player, that's the idea in the dugout. If we lose a wicket after the powerplay or just at the end of the powerplay, then I just go in. If we lose a wicket earlier, then it doesn’t quite work out. For me, it’s just a number, it all depends on the team situation," Klaasen said during the mid-innings break after wreaking havoc in Delhi.
