Stump mics have provided cricket enthusiasts with a plethora of iconic moments from the cricket field. In the first session on Day 2 of the fourth Test between India and England in Ranchi, Sarfaraz Khan and Shoaib Bashir were involved in a humorous interaction that was caught on the stump mic.
After Ollie Robinson notched up his maiden Test half-century on Day 2, he departed after being caught behind in an attempt to hit a reverse-sweep off Ravindra Jadeja. Shoaib Bashir walked out to the middle and joined Joe Root. As the young English off-spinner was getting ready to face his first ball, Sarfaraz, who was fielding at silly point, was heard saying, "Isko toh Hindi nahi aati [He doesn't understand Hindi]." To this, Bashir replied: "Thodi thodi aati hai Hindi [I do understand a little bit of Hindi]."
The video showcasing the hilarious interaction between the two youthful cricketers had the cricket fraternity in stitches.
Bashir could only last a couple of deliveries as he was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja for a duck. The 20-year-old went for a wild agricultural swing across the line, but all he managed to get was a leading edge that was safely caught by Rajat Patidar at backward point.
England bundled out for 353, India are 34/1 at Lunch

The Indian all-rounder took the wickets of Bashir and James Anderson as the visitors went from 347/7 to 353 all-out. Jadeja's bowling spell culminated with impressive figures of 4 wickets for 67 runs in 32.5 overs.
India's innings didn't get off to a great start with the bat as skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed in the third over by James Anderson. The duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill took India through to Lunch on Day 2. The hosts have 34 runs on the board, still trailing England's score by a margin of 319 runs.
