A total of 16 teams have been playing and training hard for the T20 World Cup 2022 which kicked off on Sunday, October 16. While eight of the 16 teams have qualified for the Super 12, the remaining eight are fighting hard to find themselves a spot in the Super 12. While there have been some great matches, there have been some great moments off the field as well.

Be it any sport, players of a team always share a special bond. And Pakistan’s Shadab Khan showcased some good camaraderie with the team’s leading pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi by sharing a cheeky message for him on social media. His post was dedicated to Afridi as he congratulated the pacer for making a comeback in the game after a long injury break.

Shadab Khan shared a picture of Shaheen Afridi looking at the ball, and captioned it: “Kabhi mujhe bhi esay dekho jesay ball ko dekh rahe ho. Welcome back @iShaheenAfridi.” (Look at me in the same way you are looking at the ball). Afridi then shared a picture of him looking at Shadab Khan and wrote: "Kuch keh rahe rhay aap Shaddy?" (Were you saying something, Shaddy?). Shadab reshared his tweet and replied "Ek hi dil hai kitni bar jeeto gai"

Later, Hasan Ali’s funny comment on Shadab’s picture tickled everyone’s stomach as the Pakistani players indulged in some fun on Twitter. Hasan Ali shared a picture of him with Shadab where the two are looking at each other, and captioned it saying: “Hum dekh laty hai ap ko” (Let me look at you), to which Shadab replied “Ap hamare dil mai rehte hei.” (I have you in my heart).

Shaheen looks for a comeback against India

Shadab’s appreciation post for Shaheen Afridi came in after Pakistan’s warm-up game against Afghanistan, where the pacer picked up two quick wickets to give his side a good start. The game was eventually called off as rain played a spoilsport in the second innings when Pakistan had to chase the target of 155 runs.

Pakistan will kick-start their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign on October 23 when they lock horns with arch-rivals India. The two teams have met twice, at the Asia Cup, since their previous world cup clash, and both have won a game each. It would now be interesting to see who gets the upper hand in their respective campaign opener.
