India's 2012 ICC U19 World Cup-winning skipper Unmukt Chand has shared a horrifying image of his left eye being bruised after an accident. It is still unknown whether he was hit on the eye while playing cricket or met with an accident lately.

Meanwhile, Chand took to his official Twitter handle to inform that there is nothing to worry about as he has survived the disaster by God's grace. At the same time, the 29-year-old also proved that he is a champion competitor both in cricket and in life by saying that one has to go through good and bad phases as it is never a smooth ride for any athlete.

Unmukt Chand's cricketing journey

Life looked sorted for Unmukt when he led India to the U19 World Cup 2012 triumph in Australia and big offers came his way. He even starred in a soft drink commercial featuring the likes of India's high-profile cricketers MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina. The then budding cricketer went on to score a match-winning 116 for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy final against Assam and proved his mettle as a big match player yet again like he did in the U19 World Cup final.

With the Delhi cricketer showcasing consistent performances, it seemed that he was on the verge of becoming the 'next big thing' in Indian cricket. Unfortunately for him, that was not to be and he never got a chance to don the India jersey despite making regular appearances in domestic tournaments.

In the end, Chand had to take a tough call of moving to the United States of America in order to prolong his cricketing career. He went on to announce his retirement from Indian cricket with immediate effect in August last year.

The senior batter signed a three-year deal with the Major League Cricket for which he will be eligible to play from 2024 onwards. He tasted instant success in the USA as he led Silicon Valley to a title triumph in the Minor League Cricket. Unmukt has also made his Big Bash League (BBL) debut last season representing the Melbourne Renegades
