Former India Cricketer Suresh Raina has hinted at joining the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants as a mentor for IPL 2024. Notably, Raina hails from Uttar Pradesh and has been a legendary cricketer for both India and his IPL team Chennai Super Kings.

The 37-year-old retired from the IPL after the 2022 edition after he failed to attract any bidders during the mega auction and has been working as a commentator since then. However, the Ghaziabad-born cricketer made heads turn as he replied to a Tweet claiming that his joining LSG as a mentor is fake news. While replying to the Tweet, Raina wrote “Why? Your news can’t be rite all the time?” hinting at a possible comeback to IPL as a support staff.

Meanwhile, Raina is counted among the greatest batters to ever play in the IPL as he ranks on the fifth spot in the list of all-time highest run scorers in the tournament’s history. In the 238 innings played in the IPL, the southpaw has scored 5528 runs at an average of 32.51 and a strike rate of 136.73 with one hundred and 39 fifties.
