England smashed India by 10 wickets in the second semi-final at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday (November 10). Alex Hales and Jos Buttler hit fifties and never gave India any chance in the game as England gunned down 169 runs without much fuss. The Indian camp expectedly looked disappointed after the match and the skipper Rohit Sharma looked completely dejected.

The Indian captain also broke down completely with even the Indian head coach Rahul Dravid consoling him. Rohit was spotted sitting alone and was looking down all the time before Dravid had a word with him. Along with him, even Rishabh Pant also seemed to be dejected after a tough loss to England.

Pretty disappointed, says Rohit Sharma

Speaking after the match, Rohit Sharma admitted to have been disappointed with the team's performance on the day. He felt that it all comes down to handling pressure in knockout matches and also pointed out that the players have a lot of experience of playing in those situations in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

"Pretty disappointed how it turned out today. We batted well at the back end to get that score. We were not upto the mark with the ball, we couldn't turn up today. It's all about handling the pressure in knockout games. All these guys have played enough to understand that. These guys have played under pressure in IPL games, it's all about keeping calm.

"We were nervy to start with, but you got to give credit to their openers, they played really well. I thought it swung a bit in the first over, but not from the right areas. We know the runs are scored square of the wicket, we were aware about it. When we won the first game, it showed a lot of character. The game against Bangladesh, it was a tricky one. I thought we held our nerve and kept executing our plans. Couldn't do that today," Rohit said in the post-match presentation.
