Shahid Afridi has revealed the reason behind his daughter waving the Indian flag during the India-Pakistan clash in the ongoing 2022 Asia Cup tournament on September 4. Both the rival nations faced each other for the second time in their first Super-Four clash of the tournament with Pakistan winning the crucial game in a thrilling last-over finish.

The former Pakistani skipper revealed that he went to enjoy the live match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium with his family on Sunday. He said that his wife later informed him that there were only around ten percent Pakistani fans in the stadium for the match and due to that there was a shortage of Pakistani flags. He also admitted that his younger daughter waved India's flag and he was unsure about sharing the video on Twitter regarding the same.

"My wife told me that there were barely 10% Pakistani fans in the stadium and the rest were Indian fans. Pakistani flags were not available there so my younger daughter was waving the Indian flag. I received the video, but I was unsure about whether to share it online or not," Afridi said in his latest YouTube video.

Pakistan set to face Sri Lanka in the 2022 Asia Cup final on Sunday

Meanwhile, Pakistan registered a decisive win against Afghanistan in their second Super Four clash to secure their place in the final of the 2022 Asia Cup. But their latest defeat in their last Super Four clash against Sri Lanka was a worrying sign for the fans. Sri Lankan bowlers bowled out Pakistan for just 121 runs and then easily reached the target with five wickets and three overs remaining.

The star captain Babar Azam showed some glimpses of returning to form by scoring the highest 30 runs off 29 balls. But Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman struggled to make any big impact before the mega final on Sunday. Sri Lanka beat Pakistan when both the giants faced each other in the finals of the Asia Cup last time in 2014 and they are favorites to win again on September 11.
