Ashutosh Sharma played a fine knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad and helped Delhi Capitals to post 133/7 on the baord at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad in the IPL 2025. The right-handed batter not just saved his side from a further collapse, but also took them to a respectable total before rain interrupted the match between the two sides.

After being invited to bat first, DC suffered a huge collapse early in the innings. Pat Cummins was on fire, as he took the new ball and wreaked havoc on DC's batting lineup. The SRH skipper dismissed Karun Nair, Faf du Plessis, and Abishek Porel within the Powerplay overs and put DC under immense pressure.

Harshal Patel, Eshan Malinga, Jaydev Unadkat, and others kept the pressure and made further inroads into DC's innings. As a result, DC were reduced to 62/6 after 12.1 overs. That was when Ashutosh Sharma entered the middle. The right-handed batter played the role of an aggressor while Tristan Stubbs anchored the innings.

The star batter played Zeeshan Ansari's spin bowling well and launched his attack to lift DC's innings which seemed to go nowhere. Sharma targeted the V well and scored a lot of runs straight down the ground. He played equally well against both spinners and pacers. It allowed Stubbs to take a bit of his time at the other end.

The partnership between Ashutosh and Stubbs lasted till nearly the end of DC's innings. From 62/6 after 12.1 overs, the seventh-wicket partnership helped DC to get past the 120-run mark. The duo posted 66 runs in 7.3 overs, which was the major reason behind DC crossing the three-digit mark.

Ashutosh scored the majority of runs in their partnership. While Stubbs did the uplifting of DC's innings, it was Sharma's innings that helped DC get going. In his stay in the middle, the emerging batter scored 41 runs in 26 innings including two fours and three sixes. His knock came at a strike rate of 157.69.
