Dewald Brevis blazed through to a scintillating fifty (57 off 23) in Match 67 of IPL 2025 between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This was the South African's highest IPL score after his 25-ball 52 against Kolkata Knight Riders earlier this month.

Brevis' knock comprised four fours and five sixes. Three of the five maximums came across the 19th and 20th over against Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna, respectively. Brevis' fifth six was a lovely swing of the bat to deposit the ball beyond the deep midwicket fence. The 22-year-old was dismissed on the final delivery of the innings, as CSK ended up with a massive 230/5 on the board.

Brevis was not the only batter to rack up a half-century. Earlier in the evening, Devon Conway registered a 52 off 35 after his side won the toss and opted to bat first. Ayush Mhatre (34 off 17) and Urvil Patel (37 off 19) entertained with brisk cameos.

Apart from Prasidh, who finished with figures of 2/22 in four overs (including 15 dots), every other GT bowler was taken to the cleaners. Sai Kishore, Rashid Khan, and M Shahrukh Khan took a wicket apiece. However, all of them conceded runs at a rate exceeding 10.

This is the last league phase game of both sides. While CSK were eliminated from the race to the playoffs a few weeks earlier, GT have an opportunity of strengthening their chances of landing a top-two finish, considering they win this game.
