The home team Gujarat Titans (GT) are taking on the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. GT skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to field first. LSG brought in Shabhaz Ahmed in place of Digvesh Rathi, who is facing a suspension for multiple Code of Conduct breaches.

LSG openers Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh opened the first innings. The left-arm pacer Arshad Khan came in and bowled the second over of the powerplay. On the third ball of the over, Arshad over-pitched a delivery to the Australian batter.

A delivery that was pitched slightly wider from the stumps had Marsh swaying his blade to crunch it over the extra cover region for a huge maximum. The sixer hit by Marsh was also his first of the evening, where he scored a magnificent century in the first innings, also his first in the Indian Premier League history.

Meanwhile, the 2022 champions are already through to the IPL 2025 playoffs and are currently first in the points table with 18 points. The Shubman Gill-led team will aim to win the match in front of the home crowd to gain two points, which will help them position themselves at the top for the playoffs. They have one more fixture against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the last league match for them this year.

Meanwhile, LSG were knocked out of the tournament during the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). They will aim to win the clash against GT and their final fixture against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to end this year on a high note. They are currently seventh in the points table with five wins from 12 matches, playing tonight's contest as a dead rubber.
