Team India will begin their ICC T20 World Cup 2022 campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan for what will prove to be an interesting clash between the Asian heavyweights on Sunday, October 23. All the squads participating in the marquee tournament are seen to be sweating it out to compete at the highest level for the coveted title.

The Indian players are gearing up for the Pakistan game, and have been training rigourously in hopes of a full match taking place, and rain not playing a spoilsport. During India's trainins session ahead of the big clash, skipper Rohit Sharma was seen mic’d up as he hit the nets to bat.

On Saturday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a 3-minute-long video of the Indian team during the net session wherein Rohit Sharma can be seen batting alongside wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik.

At one point in the video, as the opener faced veteran pacer Mohammed Shami, he was heard saying "Arey yeh to danger bowler hai bhai. Sabse danger (He is a dangerous bowler, most dangerous).”

Mohammed Shami- key pacer in death overs

Veteran pace spearhead Shami was initially picked among list of players in standby, however, owing to the injury of Jasprit Bumrah, the management immediately filed the void by promoting the former in the squad. The player went onto relish a great innings against Australia in the warm up fixture as it took him just one over at the death to prove his worth.

The Men in Blue have had concerns over the death overs with bowlers leaking lot of runs in recent outings. However, with the inclusion of Shami in the squad for the marquee tournament, Rohit Sharma and Co. can be optimistic to restrict the rival sides.

The pace bowling department will be keen to use the Australian conditions to their advantage and make the most of it. Moreover, as the matches come thick and fast, the squad will look to keep in top form in terms of fitness and start on a high with a win against rivals Pakistan.
