Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) member and Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Sourav Ganguly has denied all the reports of his meeting with Indian skipper Virat Kohli and the Indian team for feedback on current coach Anil Kumble.

The earlier report suggested that the former Indian opener Virender Sehwag is all set to replace the leggie Anil Kumble as the head coach of the Indian team following the Champions Trophy. While there are other five names in the reckoning as well which includes Australian Tom Moody and Lalchand Rajput.

“This morning, I’ve been at the ground since 8 o’clock. I’m supposed to have spoken to players, spoken to Virat. I’ve not done it one bit, and neither am I keen to,” Dada told NDTV on Saturday.

The southpaw has suggested that it is for the best interest of players to focus on the upcoming games instead of focusing on the rumours. “Just deal with it. You’re a name; you’re captain of India, you’re coach of India, you’ll have to deal with it. Just keep quiet and play the game,” he added.

Unsure of the current situation

Ganguly was uncertain of the team’s situation with the current head coach Anil Kumble’s future as the coach either.

“Whether there is uncertainty (over the coach’s future) or not I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see. All of us can talk. But there are two exceptional cricketers: Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble. They’re responsible cricketers; they know what they’re doing,” he added.

The former Indian skipper has suggested that it was the media who blew the fight and misunderstanding to this extent which was totally unnecessary.

“Sometimes small things just get blown out of proportion. If two of you are sitting in the media box discussing players, each has a different opinion. Doesn’t mean you don’t get along,” concluded the 44-year-old batsman.
