Indian Prime Minister  Narendra Modi announced lockdown in the country for the 21 days. It was a tough decision but it was mandatory in order to protect people from the threatening virus. COVID-19 pandemic has left a big question on the daily lives of human beings.

The lockdown in the country has brought some big challenges for the poor and needy people. The labourers have nothing to work that can help them in earning some money for their daily living. It is a stern situation for everyone in the nation. But, COVID-19 outbreak has left no option in front of the government.

CAB releases statement mentioning Sourav Ganguly’s decision

Now, Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI chief has taken a step forward to provide some help to the underprivileged worth INR 50 lakhs. The cricket association of Bengal has given a confirmation over the same. Sourav Ganguly will take care of the students admitted in the government schools.

CAB in their statement said that it is a great step taken by Ganguly under such stiff conditions. They expect that other people might get some encouragement from the same and serve the needy people in their surroundings.

“Hope this initiative of Ganguly would encourage other citizens of the state to take up similar initiatives to serve the people of our state,” Cricket Association of Bengal said as quoted by Deccan Chronicle.

Earlier, Gautam Gambhir, the former World winner had also come out and donated an amount of INR 50 lakhs. He also asked the officials to take stern action against the people who are not following the guidelines given by the government and health authorities.

At the moment, the situations have gone from bad to worse in no time due to which the sporting activities across the globe have come down to a standstill. And, there is no exact update given by the health officials on when things will be back to normal.
