South Africa completed a series whitewash against the visiting Bangladesh. They bagged huge wins in all three ODIs of this series. The home team posted a huge total of 369/6 after electing to bat first in the final game and wrapped up the opposition for just 169 to register a 200-run win. The South Africans won by huge margins in the two Test matches and will be looking towards the same in the T20I series.

Here we look at all the stats and records created during the game.

2 – This was the 2nd time Faf du Plessis’ ODI innings came to an end after he got retired hurt. He scored 133 in Mumbai in 2005 before walking off retired hurt. Among South Africans, Herschelle Gibbs is the other player to be retired hurt on two different occasions in ODI cricket.

3 – Number of players including Aiden Markram who have scored fifty and more in their maiden innings for South Africa in both ODIs and Tests. Kepler Wessels and Faf du Plessis are the other players to score 50+ in their maiden Test and ODI innings for South Africa.

4 – Aiden Markram is only the 4th player in history to be run out on debut in both Tests and ODIs. England’s Basil D’Oliveira and Brian Luckhurst and Windies’ Sulieman Benn are the other three to be dismissed run out in ODIs.

9 – Number of matches South Africa and Bangladesh played in ODI cricket in South Africa. The home side won in all the nine ODIs with 10-wicket victories in three matches and 100-run margin in four ODIs.

11 – Aiden Markram became the 11th player to score a fifty and pick up a wicket on ODI debut. He is the 2nd player from South Africa after Shaun Pollock to score a fifty and pick up a wicket.

91* – Faf du Plessis is the 3rd player to remain retired not out in the 90s in an innings in International cricket. Pakistan’s Zahid Fazal scored 98* in 1991 while Roshan Mahanama scored 92* in 1993. All the three have come in ODI cricket.

369/6 – South Africa’s total of 369/6 is the highest in South Africa-Bangladesh ODI matches. The previous highest was 358/4 by South Africa in 2008 at Benoni.

369/6 – South Africa’s 369/6 is the 2nd highest total without including an individual century in ODI cricket. The highest ODI total not including an individual hundred is 392/5 also by South Africa in 2007 against Pakistan.
