Team India has thoroughly dominated the South African team in the limited overs cricket this season. In the ODIs, they were all over the South Africans with a dominating end scoreline of 5-1. It was the spin puzzle from the Indian camp that proved to be too hot to handle for the Proteas. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav were the top performers for the visitors in the historic ODI win.

Amidst this backdrop, the T20I series commenced. Certainly, the expectations remained the same. The wrist spinners were expected to call the shots in the shortest format of the game as well. Much to the relief of the Proteas team, Kuldeep Yadav did not participate in the first T20I of the series. It was a finger injury that kept him out of action.

However, the finger injury was not good enough to keep Kuldeep Yadav out of the game totally. During the penultimate over of the South African innings, the young wrist spinner was seen mocking his opposition number, Tabraiz Shamsi, from the dugout. The action perspired when Shamsi was all padded up and ready to bat in the innings.

Jasprit Bumrah was the bowler and the Proteas were already 8 wickets down. A defeat loomed with utter certainty. Shamsi was due to bat in at the number 11 slot. It was just then that the cameraman showed Shamsi on the frame in the dugout waiting for his turn to bat. Kuldeep was seen in the background laughing and gesturing that Shamsi would go and hit it out of the park.

Clearly, the troll came following Shamsi’s poor track record with the bat. In the final over of the game, when Shamsi arrived in to bat, even the commentator took a subtle dig at him quoting, “Shamsi would take the number eleven slot for any side in the game”.
