South Africa Women levelled the 5-match T20I series against Pakistan with a record 173-run chase in the 4th T20I. The hosts had the Pakistan openers back in the pavilion for just 10 runs after electing to bowl. However, Nida Dar’s quick-fire 37-ball 75 with 11 boundaries was backed by Bismah Maroof (37) and Aliya Riaz (35* off 17). Chasing Pakistan’s total of 172/5, opener Lizelle Lee smashed 60 off only 31 balls. Her knock set the tone for the Proteas chase which was completed with four wickets and five balls to spare.

A record chase

173 – The 173-run chase by South Africa is now the 3rd highest successful chase in Women’s T20I cricket. The top two chases have been recorded by England Women who chased 199 against India in 2018 Tri-Series and 179 against Australia in the 2017 Ashes.


The fastest fifties

20 – The 20-ball fifty by Nidar Dar is the 2nd fastest in Women’s T20I cricketer after Sophie Devine’s 18-ball effort in 2015 against India. The previous fastest T20I fifty by a Pakistan Women was off 34 balls by Nida Dar only which she recorded against India in the 2018 WT20 and against South Africa in the 1st T20I of this series.


26 – Lizelle Lee’s 26-ball fifty is the fastest known T20I fifty by a South African Women. The previous fastest is off 33 balls by Lizelle against India and by Dane van Niekerk against Bangladesh; both came in 2018.


Pakistan’s highest

75 – The 75-run knock by Nida Dar is now the highest individual score in Women’s T20I cricket for Pakistan. She surpassed Javeria Khan’s unbeaten 74 came against Ireland in the 2018 WT20.


3 – Nida Dar became the first Pakistan Women to hit three sixes in a T20I inning. Asmavia Iqbal hit two sixes on two instances while Nida Dar hit two sixes in three T20Is but no Pakistan player hit three sixes in a Women’s T20I innings before this game.


106 – The 106-run stand between Bismah Maroof and Nida Dar for the 3rd wicket is only the 3rd-century partnership in Women’s T20I cricket for Pakistan. Javeria Khan and Javeria Rauf added an unbeaten 123-run stand for the opening wicket in the 2013 Solihull T20I against Ireland while Javeria Khan and Bismah put on 106 for 3rd wicket against Bangladesh in 2014.


172/5 – Pakistan’s total of 172/5 is their 2nd highest total in Women’s T20I cricket. The highest is 177/5 against Malaysia in the 2018 Asia Cup hosted by Kuala Lumpur.


Career milestone for Dar

1058 – Nida Dar completed 1000 runs in Women’s T20I cricket when she got past 17 in this game. She thus became the 3rd player after Bismah Maroof (1966) and Javeria Khan (1548) to aggregate 1000 T20I runs for the Pakistan woman’s team.


6 – Nida also became only the 6th player and the first from Pakistan with 1000+ runs and 50+ wickets in Women’s T20I cricket. Her 87 wickets are the most for any player who scored 1000+ runs in this format.
