It is a very unfortunate moment for a cricketer when he is not allowed to enter the 22 yards more. While some are very unfortunate to cut short their careers due to injuries, few are responsible themselves for their condition. Cricket is, as the very popular phrase goes, a gentleman’s game. Anyone who tries to breach its sanctity faces severe consequences, as the Kerala born cricketer Shanthakumaran Sreesanth is facing now.

The once upon a time India’s prime pacer Sreesanth was banned from all formats of the game when it was found that he had indulged himself in corrupt practices, which does not go hand in hand with the cardinal laws of fair play of the beautiful game. However, on Monday, the Kerala High Court provided Sree with a new ray of hope by lifting the ban on the pacer.

But just when the owner of over 150 international wickets was trying to plan a grand comeback like the Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir, who was also banned for a similar reason, he has received a massive setback from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The board is not willing to allow the player enter the field again after what he has done to the holiness of the game.

Sreesanth lashes out on Twitter

However, Sreesanth is not keeping quiet and lashed out on BCCI through perhaps the most powerful weapon present nowadays, that is social media. The bowler has used Twitter to venture his views and publicly slammed the double-standards of BCCI.

In one tweet, he wrote “the board is firm on its zero tolerance policy on corruption and match-fixing,” he added. @bcci office?? Then what about csk and Rajasthan?” Here, he is asking why BCCI is giving a second chance to the two temporarily banned IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, who were also involved in similar malpractices.

In another tweet, he has said that the BCCI must not act like gods and must give him his livelihood back. “C mon @bcci this is worst u can do to anyone that too who is proven innocent not just once but again and again..don’t know why u doing this?” wrote Sree. It will be interesting to see what the BCCI decides after such controversial tweets.
