No cricketer made the headlines as much as the dog in Vizag did yesterday. The loudest cheers in the stadium were not for centurions Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara, but for the dog who enforced an early tea. Just minutes before the tea on day 1 of the second Test, a dog came running on to the field. Pujara, who was batting on 97, had to wait till the dog left. The dog came back again and stopped the play.

Bowler Stuart Broad tried his best and so did the ground security. Seeing the adamant nature of the dog, the umpires decided to enforce an early tea than the scheduled time. The crowds cheered for the dog as the security ran behind it. The commentators mocked and joked about the situation too. One of the commentators went on to say that the dog ran faster between the wickets.

The ICC was quick to take to the social media platform Twitter and asked who let that dog out on the field. They posted the pic of the security guard running behind the dog. ICC tweeted, “Who let the dog out!? Who, Who, Who, Who? #Shotoftheday.”

The Twitter exploded in replying with their comments on the post. People joked and gave their answers to the weird question. One such user was spot on with his answer though. He eventually posted a picture of English bowler Steven Finn with a dog. He commented that surely the dog belongs to him. He tweeted, “.@ICC I think I have found the answer to the question. It’s @finnysteve. #VizagDog.”

He even posted a picture of Steven Finn with the dog. The English players absolutely liked the pic. And Steven Finn also was not far behind in tweeting back to it. Finn agreed with the picture and jokingly said that it might perhaps be true. He was the one who let the dog out. He wrote, “It’s true. This is the same dog!”
