Stuart Broad replies hilariously on Jofra Archer’s backdated tweet on Ashes

The 2019 Ashes between England and Australia is all set to get underway on Thursday, August 1. The opening Test is scheduled to be played at the Edgbaston in Birmingham, the very venue where the Three Lions beat the Aussies to reach the Final of the recently concluded World Cup. As far as the game is concerned, the Brits have already announced their playing eleven.

The likes of Sam Curran, Olly Stone and Jofra Archer couldn’t make the eleven. James Anderson, who was undergoing rehabilitation following a calf injury, made the cut. Stuart Broad, who picked up seven wickets in the match versus Ireland at the Lord’s, will also get a chance to have at England’s arch-rivals. Meanwhile, Broad has managed to dig out an old tweet from Archer.

Archer has been grabbing the limelight for a pretty long time owing to the connections his old tweets have had with the recent happenings on the cricket pitch. In fact, a number of his tweets came to the fore during the World Cup that connected to the mega event. He seemed to have predicted most of the tournament. Broad found Archer’s tweet on the Ashes.

It was made way back in July 2015. In that tweet, Archer was sounding restless as the Ashes didn’t start by then. The Barbados-born cricketer took to Twitter and wrote, “Why is it not ashes Yet.” Four years down the line, the young speedster is indeed part of the high-voltage series, though he couldn’t break into the eleven in the first game versus Tim Paine and Co.

As far as Broad is concerned, after four years, he reverted to the old tweet. The experienced seamer replied to the old tweet and wrote, “Patience Jof, only 1 more day…”

Broad is expected to play a crucial role along with the likes of Anderson. Broad has a truckload of experience playing in the Ashes and his role will undoubtedly be crucial for the home team. Australia are the current holders of the Ashes, but they haven’t won the bilateral series on English soil ever since 2001.
