The Indian team will go some stern test in the next two and half months as they embark on their journey to the United Kingdom (UK). They were scheduled to get on board today as per a press release a couple of days ago by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Virat Kohli and his boys will play a two-match T20I series versus Ireland at the Village in Dublin.
Thereafter, the Men in Blue moves to England to play in a T20I series followed by an ODI series. After the completion of the white-ball fixtures, the team will face Joe Root and Co in a five-match Test series which gets underway in August. The limited-overs fixtures aren’t expected to be a cakewalk for the visitors as England are in red-hot form in their ongoing ODI series versus Australia.
Virat’s men’s challenge in English conditions
Last time around, MS Dhoni led the team and they only managed to win the ODI series by 3-1. While they lost the one-off T20I, India were thrashed black and blue in the Tests by 3-1. They won the second Test at the Lord’s Cricket Ground comprehensively, but couldn’t hold on to their momentum. A lot of cricketers who played in that tour will again be up for the challenge.
Virat Kohli, himself, didn’t have the most impressive of campaigns. However, in the press conference prior to their departure, Kohli has urged the supporters to move on from last time’s debacle. He also updated that he is ‘110 percent’ fit and is raring to take charge under trying conditions. He took to Instagram and wrote “Off we go. UK Bound! @mahi7781 @shikhardofficial@arunkanade”

Sunil Chhetri, who won India the Football Inter-continental Cup, beating Kenya in the Final, wished them luck. The veteran of 101 international matches replied to Virat’s photo and wrote, “@virat.kohli all the very best to you and the entire team champ”
