Watch: Super funny catch Kevin Pietersen and White in BBL Super Over: The Melbourne Stars vs Sydney Sixers teams looked equally weighted on paper with star players in both the teams and when both the team eventually completed their quota of 20 overs they were still on the same position. The Stars and the Sixers scored 150 runs and there could be no winner after the end of 20 overs, thus giving the match added pinch of spice and taking it into the Super Over.
A Super over is always Super, the teams have just one over, 6 balls to post a target, then the other has to chase it down in another six and you have two wickets to save in those deliveries. The Melbourne Stars batting first in the super over posted 19 runs.
James Faulkner emerged as the pick for the Stars who out shined the rest and his sterling performance took the game into the hands of the Melbourne team. In response before the Sixers could even get in feel of the chase John Hastings got the six balls right and restricted them to 9.
Apart from the run making in the super over what also caught everyone’s eye was the catch that Kevin Pietersen dropped and yet Nic Maddison had to walk back. The catch which went high up in the air and could not travel vertical distance found the waiting hands of KP on the circle.
But, the ball popped out of his pouched hands and the wicket seemed to slip away, having an alert and another good fielder with a presence of mind Cameron White just around Pietersen helped as he plucked the ball which bounced off the others hands.
