Suresh Raina comes up with special message for Sunil Chhetri and Indian football team

Veteran Indian cricket Suresh Raina was all smiles after team India registered an emphatic victory. Well, the Men in Blue in the frame in this context are not the ones led by Virat Kohli, but Sunil Chhetri. The Indian football team came up with a brilliant performance in their recent match against Kenya. The encounter had grabbed a lot of attention on the social media.

A couple of days in the lead up to the contest, Sunil Chhetri had come up with an emotional plea for the fans. He had posted a video on the social media asking the fans to come to the venue of the match in Mumbai to cheer the Indian side. He had literally requested the fans to flock the stadiums and make the hardworking players feel wanted. The video became an overnight sensation on the social media and found backing from prominent celebrities too.

Even cricketers like Virat Kohli and former cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar urged the fans to support the team for the game. The match day arrived and it happened to be the 100th match for Chhetri in India’s colors. The Indian captain scored two goals as the Indian team registered a clinical 3-0 win over the visiting Kenyan side.

More importantly, it was a sell out crowd in Mumbai who lived up to the expectations of the players. Soon after the game was over, Suresh Raina posted a snap from the game to congratulate the Indian side. He had special words of praises for Chhetri and congratulated him on the achievement.
