Suresh Raina hails teammates for the superb win against Sunrisers Hyderabad

It was batsman’s paradise at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune as one of the batsmen went on to score a ton while three others managed half-centuries. It was Ambati Rayudu show in the Pune stadium who was yet again at his classy best in the run chase. Along with Shane Watson, Rayudu put on a superb 134-run stand. The opening partnership laid the momentum for the side. Dhoni gave the finishing touch in the end but surely, It was Ambati Rayudu show throughout the innings.

Suresh Raina who could not contribute much during the run chase took to Twitter to laud the brilliant innings of Rayudu and Watson. The southpaw also praised the opening spell of Deepak Chahar who gave away just 14 runs picking up the wicket of Alex Hales in his 4 overs.

Dhawan-Williamson show, again

Earlier after winning the toss, CSK opted to bowl first at their adopted home. Chahar struck early to remove English man Hales but the last game’s hero for Hyderabad was together again. Dhawan along with skipper Kane Williamson was at their fluent best during their super partnership. The duo added 123 runs during their stay together with both of them registering yet another half-century. Deepak Hooda’s 11-ball 21 meant that the visitors notched up 179 runs.

Rayudu-Watson thrash best bowling lineup

Hyderabad boasts one of the best bowling lineups in the tournament. However, none of the bowlers had the answers to the Rayudu-Watson partnership. The two never looked in any trouble throughout the partnership. However, it was Rayudu who was the aggressor in the partnership smashing few classy fours and sixes.

Watson fell for 57 runs when he was run out trying to steal a quick single. Suresh Raina who praised the teammates on Twitter could not provide an able support to Rayudu and could only last 3 balls in the middle. However, Skipper Dhoni did the job he is known for. Keeping his calm and finishing the game along with Rayudu.

Interestingly, Dhoni after smashing a four gave the strike back to Rayudu who was stranded at 99 at the other end. Rayudu notched up his ton with a single, eventually winning the match for his side.

Notably, Rayudu has already been awarded for his brilliant outing in the tournament as he has been selected in the Indian ODI squad for the upcoming tour of England.
