Hardus Viljoen is a South African cricketer who made his debut for the Proteas in 2016 against England in a Test match after which he never represented the international side. While playing his first Test he took Alastair Cook’s wicket off his first delivery in Test cricket, becoming the 20th player to achieve this feat. Viljoen’s impressive exploits with the ball in the T20 Blast where he took 16 wickets playing for Derbyshire earned him a place in the T10 league.

The right-arm-fast bowler was picked by Northern Warriors in the tournament alongside T20 specialists Darren Sammy, Andre Russell, and Lendl Simmons etc. The 29-year-old speedster played all the games for his franchise, Northern Warriors, and went on to take 18 wickets in 9 matches at an economy of 7.77 which is considered excellent in the 10-over format. His show with the ball also helped the Warriors win the final.
