The Super League stage of the T10 League 2019 has come to an end and we are now down to the business end of the tournament. Maratha Arabians, Qalandars, Deccan Gladiators and Bangla Tigers are the four teams that have advanced through. There were yet another three exciting games of cricket played on the eighth day of this short, exciting tournament.
The opening game of the day was a great thriller. Courtesy Mohammad Nabi’s 48, the Delhi Bulls got to 98 after losing 8 wickets. Zaheer Khan and the other bowlers did a great job and managed to put the opposition under pressure in the second innings. But the Qalandars somehow managed to get over the line with three wickets and one ball to spare. In his two overs, Zaheer conceded just 8 runs and picked up two wickets.
Maratha Arabians came up with yet another impressive performance in the second game of the day. Tom Moores, with his unbeaten 26-ball 46, guided the Bangla Tigers to 106 runs in 10 overs. But that wasn’t sufficient as Chris Lynn took his team off to a flyer with 23 off 9 balls. Towards the end, Najibullah Zadran (36 off 15 balls) and Yuvraj Singh (23 off 12) balls played handy cameos to take the side over the line.
In the last game of the day, Team Abu Dhabi posted a huge total of 128/2 batting first. While Luke Wright remained unbeaten on 57, Moeen Ali scored 35 runs. In reply, the Karnataka Tuskers could only get 94 runs. They were going nowhere in the chase until Ryan ten Doeschate came up with a 12-ball 32 and added life to this innings.
