The aspect of fielding in any game has the power to change the fortune of the match any time around. Moreover, when it comes to T20, a run saved is a run scored as every bit of it counts. Thus, it is a no-brainer that we often witness some great fielding efforts from the players which sometimes help the team triumph in crunch moments. The Gloucestershire cricketer Glenn Phillips came up with one such splendid catch that dropped many jaws.

In the ongoing Vitality Blast T20 tournament, Glenn Phillips grabbed an absolute stunner of a catch to remove the Middlesex batter Stevie Eskinazi during their match on Friday. Matt Taylor, however, bowled one delivery wide outside off-stump, which allowed Eskinazi to make some space and play a shot on the off-side. The result, though, didn’t go as per the batter’s ploy although he seemed to have hit it perfectly in the gap.

The ball had enough flight and was quite aerial, but Glenn Phillips made sure it didn’t go past the boundary. Phillips was placed at a backward point and out of nowhere he dived in front and timed his jump perfectly to grab the extraordinary catch which left everybody in absolute awe of him. Fielding attempts like this contribute vastly to any team’s chances to secure an edge over the opposition, especially in T2o cricket.

In this match, however, Gloucestershire posted the target of 171/8 while batting first. They then restricted Middlesex to 161/8, clinching the game by 10 runs. Ryan Higgins, who hit 43 runs off 25 balls, further bettered his abilities with the ball by scalping a wicket was awarded as the Player of the Match.
