The Pakistan side produced a sensational performance and beat the New Zealand side with 5 wickets to spare in the 19th Match of the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup.

And, after Pakistan’s victory over the Kiwis, Mohammad Hafeez has taken to Twitter to dedicate the victory to the security forces of Pakistan. Hafeez also congratulated the Pakistan side for their superb performance against the Kiwis. It is to be noted that New Zealand had cancelled their series against Pakistan in September citing security issues.

“Dedicating this win to all security forces of Pakistan. Well done boys keep working hard for Cup. In Shaa Allah. Pakistan Zindabad,” tweeted Mohammad Hafeez. You can see the tweet from Mohammad Hafeez below.

Pakistan beat New Zealand to post their second consecutive victory

On 26th October 2021, the Pakistan cricket team beat New Zealand with 5 wickets to spare to post their second consecutive victory of the 2021 T20 World Cup. Batting first, the New Zealand side could only manage to post a total of 134/8 in 20 overs.

Daryl Mitchell and Devon Conway scored 27 runs each for the Kiwis. Haris Rauf set the stage on fire with the ball. The right-arm pacer gobbled up 4 Kiwi batsmen and leaked only 22 runs as well.

The Pakistan side too lost wickets at regular intervals in the run chase. In fact, when Pakistan lost their 5th wicket with their scorecard reading 87/5, the match hung in the balance. And, that is when Asif Ali and Shoaib Malik came together to snatch the match out of New Zealand’s grasp.

The duo put on a match-winning unbeaten partnership of 48 runs for the 6th wicket, as Pakistan went past the finish line with 5 wickets and 8 balls to spare. While Asif Ali plundered a sensational 12-ball 27*, the experienced Shoaib Malik scored a calm and composed 26* off 20 deliveries.

The Pakistan side will next be seen in action on the field on 29th October 2021, when they lock horns with the Afghanistan outfit. This match will be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
