Team India started the T20 World Cup with back-to-back losses at the hands of Pakistan and New Zealand. The team, led by Virat Kohli, looked completely down and out and once languished at the fifth spot in the points table in Group 2. Their batters flattered to deceive and their bowlers lacked penetration as Pakistan and the Black Caps didn’t have much troubles in beating India.

However, the Men in Blue have made an incredible comeback in the T20 tournament. To start with they defeated Afghanistan by 66 runs after which they got past Scotland by eight wickets. Most importantly, India got their net run rate up to as high as 1.619 due to their two massive wins. Moreover, Kohli’s men have also left behind the Kiwis and the Afghans on nrr.

India hang by a thread

But despite the two wins, India’s fate in the tournament isn’t in their own hands anymore. New Zealand and Afghanistan are set to cross swords in Match No.40 of the T20 World Cup on Sunday, November 7 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. If Kane Williamson’s men get past Mohammad Nabi and Co, then India would be knocked out of the mega event.

In that scenario, India’s last Super 12 match against Namibia on Monday, November 8, would be a dead rubber. But if the Afghans defeat the Kiwis against all odds, team India would have a great chance of qualifying for the semis. The fact that India have a better nrr than the Black Caps and the Afghans should also help their cause as far as qualification in the semis is concerned.

It’s pertinent to note that the Black Caps are on a three-winning streak and have recovered from their initial defeat against Pakistan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. New Zealand and Afghanistan haven’t faced each other in T20Is thus far.

In the meantime, the Indian fans are busy churning out hilarious memes ahead of Afghanistan’s Super 12 clash against the Kiwis on Super Sunday. The Indian supporters would be desperately wishing for Nabi’s men to defeat the Black Caps.

Here’s how the Indian fans are reacting
