Tabraiz Shamsi, the South Africa spinner, has been in the thick of things as far as international cricket is concerned. He played one Test, three ODIs and one T20I against Sri Lanka and ended with 12 wickets in the tour. The 28-year-old is now scheduled to play in South Africa ‘A’s triangular series also involving Australia ‘A’, India ‘A’  and India ‘B’.

The series was earlier listed to be played in Andhra Pradesh, however incessant rain has forced the management to shift the venues to Bangalore. The first four matches were abandoned without a ball being bowled and the series will get underway tomorrow. In the meantime, Shamsi became nostalgic after reaching Bangalore.

Shamsi’s words of praises for Dhoni

He reminisced the last time when he was in the state while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). His last IPL match for the franchise was against the Kolkata Knight Riders on May 2, 2016, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Shamsi also felt delighted after coming back to the city after a gap of approximately a couple of years.

The Johannesburg-born cricketer also heaped praises on MS Dhoni, the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman. He hailed the veteran as the greatest finisher of all time. Dhoni hasn’t had the greatest of times of late. He played in India’s limited-overs series against England on English soil and couldn’t quite deliver with the willow. Subsequently, he was a recipient of severe criticism from the fans.

Along with his message for Bangalore, Shamsi uploaded his picture along with Dhoni. He captioned the same and wrote, “The last time I was in Bangalore I was representing the team in red and black…. it’s feels good to be back “home” with the SA A team (Just btw.. picture featuring the greatest finisher of all time lol) #HomeAwayFromHome #Bangalore #MSD #BestEver”.
