While Tendulkar was hunting the oppositions with century after century, it was a surprise that he never got to the triple century landmark in Test cricket. With 51 Test centuries and a highest Test score of an unbeaten 248, Tendulkar missed out on the top five highest individual scores by an Indian batter in the longer format.

Virender Sehwag and Karun Nair are the only two cricketers from India to have achieved the landmark of a Triple century in Tests. While Sehwag achieved the feat twice against Pakistan and South Africa, Nair was the latest batter to achieve the feat in 2016. Sehwag’s 293 and Laxman’s 281 are the next two highest scores by an Indian batter in Tests apart from the three triple centuries.

Tendulkar hit a total of six double centuries, and his conversion rate was quite good in the longer format. However, with number four being his premier batting position during his era, the time factor had to be taken into consideration.
