Tollywood actor Ram Charan to play Suresh Raina's role in MS Dhoni's biopic

If reports are to be believed, Tollywood actor Ram Charan Teja, who made his Bollywood debut opposite Priyanka Chopra with Zanjeer has been signed to play the role of Suresh Raina in MS Dhoni’s biopic. It is also being said that Ram Charan has agreed to play the role.

As Raina is one of the closest friends of Indian limited overs skipper MS Dhoni, the director of the biopic, Neeraj Pandey has decided to feature their friendship in the movie. Therefore, he felt that this South Indian actor will fit in this role. This will be Ram Charan Teja’s second Bollywood film after Zanjeer.

The trailer of the biopic was released on the 11th of this month and it created an instant buzz on YouTube with 6 million-plus views in less than 24 hours. The trailer has currently 8.7m views with 2.4 Lakh likes, 4000 dislikes and 15,000 comments.

Starring Sushant Singh Rajput as the Indian skipper, the film will show the journey of the ticket-collector from Ranchi, who faced a struggle between the dreams of his parents and his own dreams of playing cricket for India. While Kiara Advani plays the role of his wife Sakshi. Herry Tangri has also been cast in for the role of Yuvraj Singh.

Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh & Virat Kohli also played a pivotal role in MS Dhoni’s illustrious career. The actors picked to play their roles are yet to be revealed by the director. The biopic is one of the most awaited films of the year. It is all set to hit the screens on 30th September. Fox Star Studios serves as the primary producer of the film.

However, MS Dhoni’s focus will be on the upcoming tour of the United States against West Indies for the T20I series. He will lead a 14-member Indian squad which will feature the likes of Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and others.
