Top 10 players (current) to score most ducks in ODI career: There are only 3 surefire ways to get famous in ODI cricket. Get 100s and loads of them, get wickets and a bucketful of them or the more infamous way, get lots of ducks. If a player has had a long career, he is bound to collect some ducks on the way and that collection sometimes amount to a handful.
Here are the top 10 duck gatherers of ODI history, given most of them are bowlers who don’t get much chance to bat, but some of them have serious batting chops in them.
10. 15 – Kumar Sangakkara (Asia/ICC/Sri Lanka 2000-2015) Mts: 401
The Sri Lankan superstar has had a long ODI career which will culminate after the 2015 World Cup and he has gathered 15 ducks so far in his career. Sangakkara debuted in 2000 to replace Romesh Kaluwitarana in the Sri Lankan set up. And he did impress the selectors and fans with his spotless keeping and superbly elegant batting. Sangakkara gave up the gloves in Test cricket to Prasanna Jayawardene, but continues to keep in the shorter formats. Sangakkara also captained the Sri Lankan team to the 2011 World Cup final.
