After a disappointing test series in England last year, Virat Kohl draw back. his very best in the 8 innings that he played in Australia. For the first test match at Adelaide he was the standing captain of the team and scored centuries in both innings which almost took India pretty close to victory. Though in the second test match Virat failed to score big in both the innings. In the first innings of the third test match he scored yet another century at Melbourne, whereas in the second innings he scored 46 runs. Following skipper MS Dhoni’s retirement from Test cricket Kohli automatically took over as the full-time captain of the Indian cricket team from the fourth test match, where he scored (147) another century in the first and got out on 46 in the last innings of the test series. At the end of the series he totals 692 runs. This shows that Virat Kohli the skipper has grown into the backbone of the Indian batting order. He played some great strokes of the fast bowler and negotiated the spinners well. His weakness was fishing outside off stump, with a technical correction he to a certain extent overcame the drawback.
