In a bid to make Test match cricket more enticing, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the first cycle of the World Test Championship. The Top 9 teams in the world are taking part in the Championship, and the top two teams will play the finals which will be held at the iconic Lords Cricket Ground in June 2021.
Currently, the top place is occupied by the Indian side. The Indian cricket team created history in Australia by beating the Aussies at The Gabba, a venue where the kangaroos had last lost a Test match way back in 1988 (before they lost in 2021). The second and third places are held by New Zealand and Australia respectively.
Bangladesh is the only side that is yet to even open their account, having lost all three matches that they have played in the tournament thus far.
