India to remain the hosts of T20 World Cup 2021, Australia to host the 2022 edition: ICC

  • India will host the T20 World Cup in October-November with the final to be held on November 14. Australia will host the tournament in October-November as well with the final on November 13.
  • India also has the responsibility to host the 50-overs World Cup in 2023 between October and November with the final on November 26.
  • ICC, on Friday, decided about the venue of the upcoming showpiece events.

CPL 2020: All players, staff, administrators test negative for COVID-19 after arrival

  • Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, CPL 2020 will be held behind closed doors in Tarouba and Port of Spain in Trinidad.
  •  The officials of the league in a statement stated that 162 players, who came from different places for the league, have tested negative.
  • They will be now required to remain in quarantine in their official hotels for 14 days.

  • St Kitts and Nevis Patriots player Fabian Allen has been ruled out of the 2020 edition of the Caribbean Premier League as he missed his flight from Jamaica to Barbados.
  • Allen was retained by Nevis Patriots in the last month’s draft and was scheduled to reach Barbados through an internal flight on Monday, August 3.
  • He further had to board the charter plane to Trinidad but due to some confusion, he couldn’t make it to the airport on time.
