Former Rising Pune Supergiant skipper MS Dhoni has always been under the scanner no matter which team he turns up for. The stage was ideally set for him yet again at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in the first Qualifier of the 10th edition of the Indian Premier League. The love affair that Dhoni shares with the venue is known to all. It was the same venue where he had finished things off in style for India in the ICC World Cup 2011.

Now, the man who has established himself as the greatest finisher in modern day cricket, finished things off in style yet again. It was a cameo played by MS Dhoni towards the end of the innings that helped Rising Pune Supergiant post a decent total on the board. Coming into the game, the pressure was always going to be there. The winner of the match would get a place in the finals.

Hence, both teams wanted to go out all guns blazing. It was Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma who won the toss and opted to bat first. Rising Pune Supergiant had a horrid start as they lost the wickets of Rahul Tripathi and Steve Smith cheaply. Ajinkya Rahane scored a fifty but the pace never picked up for the RPS lineup. Manoj Tiwary played a handy knock too but was not in the best of the striking forms.

The Supergiant innings was heading towards a mediocre finish when MS Dhoni arrived at the crease. He took very little time to settle at the crease and had his intentions cleared right away in the game. On the day, it seemed that the veteran operator believed only in sixes. During his stay at the crease, Dhoni scored an unbeaten 40 off just 26 deliveries.

In his whirlwind cameo, he hit sixes off the bowling of Mitch McClenaghan and Jasprit Bumrah in the final two overs to show why he is renowned as the best finisher of the game. He hit 5 sixes en route his superlative cameo.

Here is how Twitter world hailed MS Dhoni after his cameo:
