The Sharjah Warriors comfortably overcame Dubai Capitals by seven wickets in match 10 of the International League (ILT20) 2022 that was played at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday, January 21. This was a much-needed victory for Warriors who have finally made some advancement on the points table.

Dubai Capitals on the other hand need to rework on their gameplan as they find themselves languishing at the fifth position in the six-team event with just a solitary win from their four outings. They were completely outplayed by warriors in all departments of the game.

Warriors skipper Moeen Ali won the toss and elected to bowl first. While the Sharjah bowlers accounted for veteran Robin Uthappa early on, they could not trouble Joe Root easily as he played a counter-attacking knock and bought up a well-deserved half-century. He got good support from Dan Lawrence (34) and his captain Rovman Powell who unleashed his power-hitting skills with a 27-ball 44.

Root remained unbeaten right till the very end scoring 80 runs off 54 deliveries at a stupendous strike rate of 148.14 including eight fours and a six as Dubai Capitals ended up posting a challenging total of 177/4.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore single-handedly wins it for Sharjah Warriors

In reply, Sharjah Warriors got off to a good start with Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Rahmanullah Gurbaz adding 47 runs for the opening stand. Despite Gurbaz’s dismissal Cadmore remained focused on the task at hand and kept taking the opposition bowlers to boundaries at regular intervals.

There was no stopping him as he effortlessly made his bat do the talking and left the Dubai bowlers shell-shocked. Tom registered his century in no time and made easy work of the run chase single-handedly despite Sharjah losing wickets at the other end.

Kohler-Cadmore remained unbeaten on a spectacular 47-ball 106 at an outstanding strike rate of 225.53 including ten fours and six maximums as Warriors successfully got over the line in the 15th over.

Here’s how the Twitterati reacted to Sharjah Warriors’ victory and Kohler-Cadmore’s incredible innings
