India suffered a ten-wicket drubbing at the hands of Jos Buttler’s England in the second semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 on Thursday, November 10 at the Adelaide Oval. The Men in Blue after being asked to bat first managed to set up a decent total (168/6) on the board despite not accelerating upfront.

In response, the Three Lions’ openers – Jos Buttler and Alex Hales put up a magnificent show and took the team all the way unscathed. Their unbeaten 170-run stand helped England seal the remaining spot in the finals of the marquee event.

Many fans and members of the cricketing fraternity are of the opinion that India should have gone in with a leg spinner in the ongoing tournament. Furthermore, fans are fuming over Chahal’s exclusion from the side against England in the semi-final clash.

The English side made life difficult for the Indian bowlers and the latter couldn't control the game at any stage. On the other hand, India were dismal not just with the ball but also in the field. The Men in Blue just could not subdue the England openers and were thoroughly punished left, right, and centre.

India opted for Axar Patel, who leaked runs at an economy rate of 7.50 and gave away 30 runs in his four overs. Meanwhile, veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin too got battered by the Englishmen for 27 runs off his two overs.

England displayed sheer dominance throughout the match, winning the encounter by ten wickets. They are now to play Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022 finals.

Here is how netizens reacted to Yuzvendra Chahal’s exclusion from the playing XI:
