In the 11th match of the tournament, Australia Women faced off against Sri Lanka women in the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup. In a dominant display by the Aussies, Sri Lanka were unable to perform in any aspect of the game as they were dominated by their opponents throughout the match.
Sri Lanka got off to a good start thanks to Harshitha Samarawickrama, who scored 34 runs off 40 balls and was the highest run-scorer for the team. Megan Schutt was the star of the Australian bowling attack, as the 30-year-old snared four scalps and gave away 24 runs. Grace Harris also impressed with the ball as she picked up two wickets and gave away a mere seven runs in three overs.
The Australian batters gave Sri Lanka no chance, as they did not lose a single wicket. Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healy both completed their half-centuries. Mooney scored 56* off 53 balls, whereas Healy scored 54* off 43 deliveries.
Alyssa Healy named Player of the Match
For her fabulous performance with the bat and also behind the stumps, Alyssa Healy was named the Player of the Match. The right-handed batter completed her half-century in fabulous fashion as she dominated the Sri Lankan bowlers. The win against Sri Lanka was Australia’s third straight win in the ongoing Women's T20 World Cup.
The Aussies won their first match of the tournament against New Zealand, they dominated Bangladesh in the second match, winning that game by eight wickets; and now they won their third straight match by ten wickets against Sri Lanka. The side leads the point table in their group with 6 points in three matches.
They will next take on South Africa in the 15th match of the tournament. South Africa have won one out of the two matches they have played in the tournament. Only losing to Sri Lanka in the first match of the competition.

Convincing as ever from the most prolific pair in T20 World Cup history now. Alyssa Healy seems in some touch to start this tournament with Beth Mooney back in the runs as well, albeit still looking a bit scratchy. Who stops this side from defending their title? #T20WorldCup2023

Would require more than special effort by a team to stop #Aus from defending their #T20WorldCup title this year.
