Salman Butt, the former Pakistan skipper, is currently playing for Falcon Hunters in the ongoing Qatar T10 league. On Monday, he stole the limelight by hitting a six on the last ball of the match that helped his side in winning a close match against the Heat Stormers.

After the conclusion of T10 league in UAE, another 10-over tournament from Qatar is making rounds in cricket. Moreover, it has grabbed the spotlight with some thrilling games in the early phase of the tournament. The truncated form of the game has grabbed has attracted more viewers as well as the players from different countries.

As far as the match is concerned, the Hunters won the toss and opted to bowl. Their bowlers proved their skipper’s decision right by dismissing Stormers’ opener Imraz Rafi on the third ball of the match. The Heat stormers’ batsmen did just enough to cross the 100-run mark and eventually went on to post 103 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 10 overs. Dharmang Patel was the leading scorer for them with 26 runs off 14 balls.

Coming onto Falcon’s chase, Salman Butt and Hashim Amla got off to a slow start scoring 24 runs in first three overs. However, soon Amla’s cameo of 17 runs came to a halt as he was dismissed by Owais Ahmed. Later on, Kamran Khan also showed some resistance and contributed valuable 18 runs in 10 balls before he became the second wicket of Owais Ahmed.

Meanwhile, Salman Butt was stealing the show from the other end with his class batting display and played the role of sheet anchor brilliantly. He didn’t lose his nerves in the match and used his vast cricket experience during the chase. In the last over, the Hunters needed 12 runs to win and the equation came down to five runs off the last ball.

Salman Butt was on strike thankfully for the Falcon Hunters. The onus was on the southpaw to take his team over the line and he didn’t disappoint. He smacked a six over the deep extra cover off Gayan Munaweera who had bowled a decent over until then and helped his side in sealing the match.

After watching the thrilling last-ball finish, the netizens were delighted for Salman Butt and congratulated him over his brilliance. He mustered an unbeaten 39 off 27 balls with three boundaries and two sixes and deservedly won the player of the match award.
