Mumbai Indians had a bad start in the new home venue after Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated them in a blunt one-sided contest at Vizag. The SRH bowling attack, that at the moment, looks like the best pack of seamers in the tournament, routed the MI batsmen who had no answer to their disciplined bowling performance.

After being put into bat, Sunrisers managed a challenging 177/3 after 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan (82 from 57 balls) continued to resurrect his batting form and hit yet another half-century. SRH got off to a good start with Warner (48 runs off 33 balls) and Dhawan putting up an 85-run opening stand. Yuvraj Singh (39 runs off 22 balls) then played a good knock in his 100th game. All these efforts saw SRH set a defendable total.

In reply, the Mumbai Indians batsmen fell like a pack of cards. The wickets never stopped falling. Openers Rohit Sharma and Parthiv Patel departed in just a matter of 7 balls. The middle order also vanished withing no time. Ambati Rayudu, Krunal Pandya, and Jos Buttler all went one after another. Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard batted briefly in the middle but the duo also failed to take MI further. The tail-enders also could not show any resistance. Harbhajan Singh (21 from 22 balls) stood unbeaten at the other end as his team folded for just 92. The Hyderabad side had no problem and registered a thumping victory.

It was the old fella Ashish Nehra (3/15) who triggered the downfall. Bhuavneshwar Kumar (1/23) played a good supporting role. Mustafizur Rahman (3/16) and Barinder Sran (2/18) then choked the MI batsman later on. Moises Henriques (1/18) also chipped in with a wicket.
