Delhi Daredevils camp had their hopes on the young batting sensation Rishabh Pant during their away clash against the Gujarat Lions at Kanpur. DD camp was already down and out in the tournament but had their pride at stake when they took on the Lions. A target of 196 looked daunting right from the onset. It needed some serious batting in the run chase to overhaul the massive total.

Despite the odds being against them, the team took confidence from the way they had previously played against the very same opposition a few matches ago in the season. They had 208 to overhaul back then in Delhi. Some stunning batting display from Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson had seen their side race past the target. The young duo had stitched a magnificent 143 run stand back on the day.

Now, they had the same opposition, the same player, and a similar mighty target to chase. Hence, the eyes were glued on Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant. Samson was cleaned up cheaply on 10. GL skipper Suresh Raina cashed in big time to hit the stumps and get him run out. The dismissal was not the first time he has been out in this fashion. Back in the ICC U19 World Cup 2016, he had a similar moment of brainfade. Meanwhile, the Twitterati could not stop talking about his dismissal against the Lions. Here is how they reacted:
