Twitter ridicules Ravi Shastri for taking a nap during the match

An intriguing opening day of the Test series saw India dominate the proceedings in the final session. They picked 6 wickets and reduced England from 216/3 to 285/9 at stumps thanks to their sensational bowling effort. Even Virat Kohli’s mic-drop celebration after running out Joe Root was trending throughout the day. But there a funny moment in the post-lunch session when the head coach of the visitors, Ravi Shastri, was caught napping while sitting in the dressing room.

The incident took place when the partnership between Root and Jonny Bairstow was flourishing during the second session of the day. The Cameraman focussed on Shastri who was napping while witnessing the action from the dressing room. He was sitting beside Sanjay Bangar who was listening to the commentary as well.

Harbhajan Singh, who is covering India’s tour of England for Sky Sports, was commentating at the same time and he poked fun at the Indian coach hilariously. He also gave a wake-up call to him and requested Bangar to convey his message to Shastri.

There was a moment of laughter in the commentary box as well with the focus soon shifting to the action in the middle as both the teams were looking to get an upper hand over each other.

Tweeples troll Shastri

Much like Ravi Shastri and the commentators, even the social media gimmicks couldn’t control themselves from making fun of the incident. They trolled the former amazingly and came up with the creative memes which have become a norm these days. This is not the first time, that Shastri has become the bunny for his actions in the dressing room.

During the grand home season last year, probably when India were facing Australia, his reactions were trending on Twitter and even then too he was trolled badly by the cricket fans. However, the way the Indian team is playing currently he wouldn’t mind being targeted by Twitterati as far as there is humour attached to it.
