Twitter trolls Imam-ul-Haq after failing in his first game against India

He scored only two runs during his seven-ball stay in the middle.

The much-awaited clash between India and Pakistan got underway in front of a jam-packed crowd in Dubai on Wednesday. Though the game is inconsequential there is a lot at stake when these two teams lock horns in any part of the world. The coin toss continued to evade Team India as Sarfraz Ahmed opted to bat first in the sapping heat and hoped to put up a decent total on the board.

All the eyes were on Pakistan’s opening duo of Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq who have been raking runs at will over the last 12 months. But the way India’s new-ball bowlers began was absolutely superb. Their bowling was strengthened with the inclusion of Jasprit Bumrah and they strangled the batsmen. No room was offered to any of them in the first couple of overs.

Pressure getting better of Imam

Bumrah bowled a maiden over to Zaman and the score of only two runs in the first couple of overs must’ve put pressure on Imam-ul-Haq. The first ball of Bhuvneshwar Kumar‘s next over was once again back of a length and for no reason, the batsman came down the track to hit it out of the ground. It was a clearly the rush of the blood from Imam and he could only edge a rash shot to the wicketkeeper, MS Dhoni.

The left-hander could only score two runs after facing seven balls and he literally threw his wicket away. It was his first game against the Men in Blue and the occasion got the better of him. The way he has started his career, it was expected that Imam, along with Fakhar, will provide his team a good start, but both of them were back in the hut within first 25 balls of the innings.

Twitterati trolled Imam hilariously for his failure and many reminded him that this was not Zimbabwe’s bowling attack to plunder runs like he has been doing in his last few matches.
