Twitter wants KL Rahul to be included for the second ODI against Australia

India are currently taking part in a five-match ODI series against Australia and are leading 1-0 after their six-wicket victory at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The hosts came up with a strong bowling performance but found themselves in a fair amount of trouble after losing a few wickets in the middle overs. MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav rescued their team thereafter.

The duo put on an unbeaten partnership of 141 runs for the fifth wicket and never allowed the Aaron Finch-captained Aussies to get a stranglehold on them. In the end, the Men in Blue won with 10 deliveries to spare. The series now moves to Nagpur where the second ODI is scheduled to be played on Tuesday, March 5 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium.

In the meantime, India will only play only four ODIs before the national team embarks on its journey in the World Cup in England and Wales. The mega event is set to get underway on May 30 with India playing its first game against South Africa at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on Wednesday, June 5. Meanwhile, Twitter wants KL Rahul to be included for the second One Dayer.

KL Rahul’s decent form of late

The 26-year-old lost his place in the national team following a string of low scores across all the formats. A few off-field controversies didn’t help his cause by any means. However, the Karnataka-batsman didn’t drop the gun and went back to the domestic circuit. The right-hander got some substantial scores under his belt in India A’s unofficial home Test series against England Lions.

The performances didn’t elude the eyes of the selectors and he was included for the T20I and ODI series against Australia. Rahul didn’t disappoint and churned out knocks of 50 and 47. Despite the impressive form, he didn’t find a place in the playing eleven in Hyderabad. Twitter now wants him to play in Nagpur that will also give him the chance of booking a berth in the World Cup squad.
