Ben Stokes’ involvement in the 2017 Bristol bar brawl case could easily have marred his career once and for all. During India’s tour of England in 2018, he missed a game as he had to attend a hearing. Though he got a clean chit, he had a lot of work to do in order to get his reputation back in place. Ever since the turbulent times, the New Zealand-born all-rounder has come off ages.

He played the 2019 World Cup and showed nerves of steel, churning out quite a few scores in the 80s. It was because of his nerves that England first managed to take the final into the Super Over and then win the one-over eliminator by the barest of margins, as commentator Ian Smith had said. He has already become a fulcrum of the national team and has matured immensely.

During the tournament, he seemed drained at times due to the severe pressure. But the adverse situation brought the best out of him. Then in September, he played one of the greatest knocks in Test cricket at the Headingley in Leeds. It was his century against Australia in the fourth innings that got the Three Lions over the finishing line. He has developed, both as an individual and cricketer.

Netizens wish Ben Stokes on birthday

In the meantime, Stokes has turned 29 years old and on the special occasion, his fans wished him and lauded him for the great work on the field thus far. However, some of the supporters drew Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s reference. Kohli can get animated on the park and uses an Indian cuss word, which looks like ‘Ben Stokes’ if the volume is muted.

In June 2019, Stokes had also tweeted about the same, “I may delete Twitter just so I don’t have to see another tweet reading “He’s saying Ben Stokes”(when he’s clearly not)in reply to a video of Virat saying you know what it was funny the first 100,000 times,” he had tweeted last year.

On Stokes’ post, even the Chennai Super Kings replied and wrote, “Ben not so Stoked!” The netizens didn’t mind making some hilarious comments on Stokes either on his birthday.
